Student Volunteers at Hospice House in Olathe
Our hospice volunteers are part of an amazing team and make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families. Volunteers frequently say they get back tenfold what they give. Hospice volunteer opportunities are rewarding, match your skills and interests, and are flexible to meet your scheduling needs.
Student volunteer opportunities include:
- House assistants provide support in common areas at Hospice House such as stocking snacks, baking cookies, tidying the kitchen, answering the phone, guiding visitors and supporting families.
- Bedside assistant/vigil volunteers provide support in patient rooms, shadow nurses and provide companionship to patients who are alone or tend to wander.
We provide training and ongoing education for our volunteers. Our volunteers will also receive support from their volunteer peers and a sense of community.
