Adult Volunteer Opportunities in the Kansas City Area
Volunteers at our many locations in the Kansas City area make a difference in the lives of our patients. As a valued member of our team, you’ll work alongside highly trained healthcare professionals. We’ll match your skills and interests with the needs of the health system location where you’d like to volunteer.
Volunteer roles may include clerical duties, pastoral care, escorting visitors, making deliveries to patients, supporting oncology patients and more.
Kansas City-area volunteer locations
Volunteer roles include:
- Clerical volunteers answer phones, use computers, file records and more.
- Pastoral care volunteers visit patients and support their spiritual needs.
- PathFinder volunteers escort visitors and deliver mail and packages to patients.
- Patient liaisons assist patients and staff within care areas.

These community locations provide our patients with access to advanced and comprehensive cancer care close to home. Oncology volunteers perform a variety of support functions for our cancer center locations. Blood and marrow transplant and CAR T-cell therapy survivors serve in mentorship roles for patients beginning these journeys. - Lee's Summit

How to volunteer
To become a volunteer, we require:
- A completed volunteer application
- Blood test to check for TB and immunity against childhood diseases
- Flu shot
- Orientation and training
- Personal interview
