  • Though not always visible, varicose veins typically are enlarged veins raised above the surface of the skin. Most noticeable when standing, they may appear blue or purple and have a bulging, rope-like appearance. In addition to being unsightly, varicose veins can cause other problems, ranging from pain, fatigue and swelling to more serious skin and tissue problems.
  • For many people, varicose veins cause no pain. They are simply unsightly dark blue, twisted bulges beneath the skin. For others, there are symptoms but no visible signs. Whatever your concerns, this condition often develops into a very real problem, causing significant discomfort and decreased quality of life.

Symptoms of a leg vein disorder include:

    • Pain
    • Swelling
    • Fatigue
    • Restlessness
    • Burning
    • Heaviness
    • Skin discoloration
    • Rash
    • Ulcers and non-healing sores
