Because our associates carry out our mission every day at Olathe Health, we are committed to being a loyal, supporting employer, so they may continue to deliver the best medical care to our community.
We offer a comprehensive, competitive benefits package that includes affordable Blue Cross Blue Shield medical plans, dental and vision, retirement savings with company matching, medical/dependent spending accounts, life and disability insurance, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and many other benefits detailed here.
Medical Insurance
Olathe Health provides medical insurance through Blue KC to all associates with a full-time status and their eligible dependents. Dependents meeting the eligibility requirements are covered through the end of the calendar year in which they turn 26. With two Blue Cross Blue Shield plans to choose from, as well as additional savings available when you receive care from Olathe Medical Center/Miami County Medical Center and hospital-owned physicians, we want to make healthcare affordable for our associates and their families.
Dental Insurance
Dental insurance is offered to all associates with a full-time status. Coverage includes preventive care, basic and major dental services, including implants. An optional dental buy-up plan includes orthodondia services.
Vision Insurance
Vision coverage is offered to all associates with a full-time status. Our plan includes eye exams, frame and lens allowances and contact lens coverage.
Life Insurance
Olathe Health provides associates with a status of at least 40 hours per pay period fully paid group Basic Term Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance. Associates may elect to add supplemental life benefits for themselves and their dependents.
Disability Insurance
Eligible full-time associates at Olathe Health receive Long Term Disability (LTD) insurance. If an associate is unable to return to work after 180 days due to a long-term disability, the LTD plan provides a monthly percentage of salary (up to a maximum amount) at no cost to the associate. Associates may purchase an additional monthly benefit at a special group rate. A maximum monthly benefit applies, and a statement of health may apply.
Associates with a full-time status can contribute to medical and dependent/elder care spending accounts. The medical spending account allows you to use your pre-tax deductions to help pay for certain healthcare expenses like deductibles, copays and miscellaneous out-of-pocket medical expenses. A dependent care/elder care spending account lets you use pre-tax deductions for the cost of caring for your dependent children/elder while you are at work.
Identity Theft Coverage
Associates may choose to purchase identity theft coverage with our group discount to protect their credit history, credit score and identity. The service provides comprehensive protection focused on prevention, detection and restoration.
Pet Insurance
Full-time and part-time associates may purchase pet insurance for their dogs, cats, ferrets, birds, reptiles and other exotic pets. Plans cover surgeries, lab fees, diagnostic tests, hospitalization, prescription drugs and more at veterinarian, specialists and emergency providers. Affordable wellness coverage can be added to any medical plan for an additional premium.
Legal Plan
We partner with LegalShield to provide associates access to quality legal services while protecting associates from the high cost of legal fees. This is a voluntary plan that associates may enroll in anytime throughout the year. When associates use a plan attorney, they have unlimited telephone advice and office consultations on all personal legal matters, including consumer protection, family law, debt matters, immigration assistance, defense of civil lawsuits, traffic matters (except DUI), and wills and estate planning. Please note that the plan does not cover business and employment-related matters.
Indemnity Plan
Hospital indemnity insurance is an optional benefit that provides financial assistance during hospital stays to help cover out-of-pocket-expenses health insurance doesn’t cover, for instance transportation, meals for family members, help with child care, or time away from work.
Whole Life Insurance
Whole life coverage options are available to associates, their spouses, children and grandchildren. Interest-sensitive whole life insurance is designed to provide death benefits to your beneficiaries if you pass away, but it can also build cash value that you can utilize while you are still living. The policy is owned by you, so you can keep your coverage even when you retire or change jobs. As long as the premium continues to be paid, your rate is guaranteed never to increase, and your benefits can never decrease.
Accident Insurance
Designed to supplement employer-sponsored health coverage, accident insurance pays specific benefit amounts for expenses resulting from non-work-related injuries or accidents. Hospitalization, physical therapy, intensive care, transportation, and lodging are some of the out-of-pocket expenses that this accident insurance could cover. You do not have to be enrolled in the employer-sponsored medical plan to enroll in this benefit. Coverage is available for employees, their spouses, and/or their children. An optional rider may be added, which provides additional coverage for hospital confinement due to a covered sickness.
Short-Term Disability
This income protection policy can help replace a portion of the associate’s salary should they experience a disability. The plan pays monthly benefits in the event of sickness and off-the-job accidents.
Critical Illness
Critical Illness insurance can help supplement major medical coverage by helping associates pay the direct and indirect costs associated with a critical illness or event. Conditions covered under this program include cancer, heart attack, stroke, major organ transplant, kidney failure and paralysis (due to accident). The coverage also includes an annual health screening benefit. Benefits are paid tax-free in a lump sum to be used at the claimant’s discretion.
