A Personal Guide Through Your Cancer Journey
Our Cancer Nurse Navigators
We have compassionate and highly skilled nurse navigators to help ensure your experience is as seamless as possible. The nurse navigator will assist you with all stages of cancer care, from screening and diagnosis to treatment and survivorship.
Our navigators help patients make informed medical decisions and assist with setting up multiple appointments and tests. Navigators also provide tips on dealing with chemotherapy, make sure patients stay on track with their treatment plan, offer emotional support and connect patients with community resources.
Kerrie Koepke, BSN, RN, OCN, CCM
Kerrie wants patients to know they are never alone. She has been a nurse for more than 25 years and considers nursing a part of her life, not just her profession. She received her bachelor's degree in nursing from St. Luke's College and her nursing degree from St. Luke's School of Nursing. As a nurse navigator, Kerrie will be by the patient's side through their entire journey - answering questions, addressing concerns and educating the patient and their family along the way.
Jeni Wakefield, BSN, RN, CMSRN
Oncology and Lung Nurse Navigator
Jeni has worked in health care for more than 30 years, and spent most of that time as an oncology nurse. She earned her degree from the University of Kansas in 1986. As a patient navigator at OMC, Jeni enjoys helping people work through the maze of information, appointments and questions cancer patients and their families have. Being able to put a smile on patients' faces and reassuring them brings Jeni the most joy in her work. Patients can expect Jeni to follow through on finding the answers they need, and always have a hug and a smile waiting for them.
