We have compassionate and highly skilled nurse navigators to help ensure your experience is as seamless as possible. The nurse navigator will help coordinate your initial consult appointments with our oncologists.

Breast Nurse Navigator Team

A team of dedicated breast nurse navigators serve as the single point of contact to assist patients and families throughout their breast cancer journey by coordinating care with all members of the healthcare team. To schedule an appointment, call 913-355-8000.

Jeni Wakefield, BSN, RN, CMSRN, ONN-CG
Oncology and Lung Nurse Navigator

Jeni has worked in health care for more than 30 years, and spent most of that time as an oncology nurse. She earned her degree from the University of Kansas in 1986. As a patient navigator at OMC, Jeni enjoys helping people work through the maze of information, appointments and questions cancer patients and their families have. Being able to put a smile on patients’ faces and reassuring them brings Jeni the most joy in her work. Patients can expect Jeni to follow through on finding the answers they need, and always have a hug and a smile waiting for them. Oncology Nurse Navigator

Julie has worked in oncology nursing for over 30 years and has been a nurse navigator for nearly four years. Julie attended Wichita State University and received a degree in nursing and is a certified oncology nurse. She is part of the Oncology Nursing Society, Lawrence Sunflower Chapter of ONS, and the Academy of Oncology Nurse and Patient Navigators.
