Children’s Mercy and Olathe Medical Center Partnership

Children’s Mercy and Olathe Medical Center are working together to provide an enhanced level of pediatric services for children in Southwest Johnson County and the surrounding areas. Planning for the services is still in its early stages, but most likely will consist of a new facility at Olathe Medical Park (the Olathe Medical Center Campus) to complement the expansive pediatric primary care network of Olathe Health. The new facility is initially expected to offer pediatric urgent care and pediatric specialty clinics provided by Children’s Mercy.

Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at The Birth Place

Our 105,000 square feet, four-story obstetrics wing with a Level II neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) opened in May 2017. Sometimes, unexpected situations arise and extra care is necessary for newborns, even in the healthiest of pregnancies. Our Level II NICU has single-family rooms equipped with incubators, ventilators, and specialized monitoring equipment to care for sick and premature newborn infants born at 32 weeks gestational age or greater, as well as full-term babies who need extra support. The Level II NICU staff at The Birth Place includes RNs specially trained in the care of high-risk newborns, neonatal nurse practitioners and board-certified neonatologists.

However, this doesn’t mean they all have the same approach or philosophy toward healthcare. Get to know our pediatricians by watching their bio videos!

Our goal is to partner with you and help guide you through the health and safety aspects of your child’s growth and development.
