Hospice

Hospice

Hospice of Olathe Medical Center serves residents of Johnson, Douglas, Miami, Franklin, Linn and Wyandotte counties who are facing end of life illnesses.  Beginning in 1984 as a volunteer organization, we are Medicare and Joint Commission accredited, and funded primarily through Medicare or Medicaid reimbursements, donations, memorials and insurance.

Hospice cares for more than just the patient. We also care for the family and those close to the patient. Hospice teaches, guides, supports and nurtures the family and caregivers so the care and responsibility won’t be so overwhelming and frightening.

Hospice is also there to assist physicians in caring for people during the last phases of their illness, including visits to comfort and meet family needs day and night.

Hospice care can be provided in the home, in a nursing home or an assisted living facility.
