Language and Interpretation Services

Language Access

The mission of the Language Access department of Olathe Medical Center is to ensure that all deaf, visually impaired and limited English proficiency persons have equal access to all services provided by Olathe Health.

  • Hear For You
    Olathe Medical Center provides a free 24-hour interpreter service called Hear For You for our deaf and hard-of-hearing patients and their families. A network of skilled interpreters is on call at all times to assure medical care will progress unhindered by communication problems. This service also includes interpretation services for Olathe Medical Center, Miami County Medical Center, the offices of staff physicians, our wellness programs, childbirth preparation classes and support groups.
  • Language Interpretation
    Olathe Medical Center patients are provided language interpretation at no charge. By contracting through Language Line telephone interpreting services, we provide assistance in more than 140 languages, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition to our 19 American Sign Lanugage interpreters, we have two Spanish interpreters on staff. Language Access Services will also provide audio and Braille resources for visually impaired patients.

    Spanish interpreting/advocacy and document translation of hospital medical forms are available.
