Capitol Federal Makes Generous Donation to Hospice House Campaign

OLATHE, KAN – The Olathe Medical Center Charitable Foundation’s campaign to build a hospice house received a significant boost today with a gift from the Capitol Federal Foundation.

Capitol Federal pledged $250,000 over the next five years toward the construction of the hospice house.

“This is obviously a significant donation toward our goal and we are extremely grateful to Capitol Federal,” said Frank H. Devocelle, President/CEO of Olathe Health System, Inc. “Capitol Federal is a leader in supporting the communities where they do business.  We are so fortunate they have chosen our cause to support.”

The commitment from the Topeka-based savings corporation puts the hospice house capital campaign over $2.3 million dollars raised.  The hospital’s target is $3 million, with the final $500,000 coming from a challenge grant from the Mabee Foundation of Tulsa, OK.  In order to receive the Mabee funds, the capital campaign must raise a total of $3 million dollars by April 13, 2012. The total project cost is $3.5 million

“Capitol Federal is extremely pleased to be able to provide this support to the hospice house at Olathe Medical Park,” said Larry Brubaker, Executive Vice President of Corporate Services at Capitol Federal.  “This is a much needed community service in eastern Kansas and we are glad to be a partner in providing it.”
