This American Heart Association CPR course is intended for participants who provide care to patients in a wide variety of settings, including in hospital and out of hospital settings (physicians, nurses, paramedics, EMTs, nursing students and assistants, RT, PT, OT and other allied health personnel). This class teaches the skills of CPR for victims of all ages (including ventilation with a barrier device and a bag valve mask device), use of an AED and relief of a foreign body airway obstruction (FBAO). A certification card valid for 2 years will be issued after successful completion of the skills and written test. Student Manual included. Participants will have hands on practice so comfortable clothing is recommended. Sack lunch is suggested.
If you would like the student manual prior to class, it is available for pick up in the Education department located on the 2nd floor of the main hospital . Office hours are 8:00 AM-4:30 PM. Books not picked up before class will be available at the class.
OHSI EMPLOYEES ONLY: A library has been established containing BLS Healthcare Provided Student Manuals for those employees attending the Healthcare Provider CPR class. Books are available for checkout in the Education Department.
